Ecstatic chanting inside the temple of the StarHouse is an exquisite, powerful experience unlike any other. Scott and Shanti Medina lead these Kirtans on a quarterly basis, which makes each one very special and unique. These participatory evenings are always a delight to come together in community. All are welcome, no experience necessary. We always have many people who are new to the StarHouse and chant. Kids under 12 are welcome for free.
Sacred costumes are optional for this Kirtan, as we are very close to the Samhain and Halloween celebrations where the veils to the spirit world of our ancestors are thin. You are welcome to dress as a cherished Deity or Ancestor if you wish.
Tickets are sold only at the door on a sliding scale (as you are able) from $15-$20, cash or check only. As an added bonus for anyone who gives $20, you will receive a free double-CD of our SoMAntra® album.
Directions to the StarHouse: The StarHouse is located 3.5 miles west of Boulder up Sunshine Canyon. From 4th Street and Mapleton Avenue in Boulder, drive west on Mapleton Avenue (which turns into “Sunshine Canyon”) about 3.5 miles. Turn right at the sign that reads “3476.” You’ll drive up the driveway. Parking is clearly marked at the *top* of the hill. After parking, walk down the other side of the hill, towards the StarHouse, which you’ll soon see through the trees. Please wear shoes appropriate for a short walk through a forest (you’ll be taking them off once inside the StarHouse), and bring a flashlight to help.
